We are up early this morning,
It is six thirty and we are leaving for Trenton for our blood work.
What is that? Frost on the car!
We arrived at the office of LifeLabs for our blood work at six
forty-five, they open the door at 7 and we are out by seven twenty.
Since we had to fast for the blood work, we spoil ourselves with a
breakfast at the Mason Jar.
The sun is shining and it is warm, I get on the roof to check out where
the leaks are coming from and seal them.
Surprise! I found more places where the water can come in than I
expected. I did some temporary repairs. I will have to
remove the old sealant and replace it with new one. I will do the
proper repair once we are in Moose Jaw.
I would not tell you which dealership did not do this job properly
(Cité Caravane), but it is another example of very poor
workmanship. Proper sealant on a roof does not become dry in 3 to
4 years, unless they used the wrong type of sealant and they did not
use enough.
The dealership had to change the quarter-round before we took
possession of the MH. Look at all the new white sealant I had to
put on top of the old one as a temporary repair... The front of
the MH.
And the back of the MH.
I will do the proper fix in Moose Jaw and I will use the right sealant
and not be cheap on the sealant like they did.

I spend the morning working of the next update for the blog.
After lunch, Michele and I took a walk. We even made it to the
front the RV Park entrance to check out the new trailer for sale.
For those that are interested, the flags are, from L to R. Holland,
Ontario, Canada, Quebec and the one on the right is the RV park itself.
Why one for Quebec? The majority of the clientele in July and
August are from Quebec.
Our home for the next month.
This is our site, but in 2017.
A busy day after all.
Thursday May 3, 2018
We both have an appointment at Helix in Belleville for our ears this
afternoon.
The results, I do not need an earing aids, yet, Michele's earring aid
are four years old and veteran affair are paying for a new pair.
Michele made the choice to get the rechargeable ones. She should
have them in about a week.
On another subject, we had a bubble jet printer and every time I went
to use it, the ink cartridges were either dry or empty. To buy
new cartridges or even getting them refilled was expensive and
time-consuming. I guess every pages we printed were becoming
expensive.
After thinking about it and a few friends mentioning about a laser
printer, we came to the conclusion it was the best choice for us.
We took the dive and bought a HP laser printer and scanner.
What do we really have to print?
The forms for our dental claims. Why paper? Because the
dentist being in Mexico, they wanted printed copies with receipts.
I am also getting laser eyes surgery and to claim a portion of it, we
have to submit a printed copy.
Friday May 4, 2018
I use our new printer for our dental claim and I am very happy with the
quality.
I phoned our extended warranty on the MH to claim the part I needed to
fix
the MH a few weeks ago. So, I talk to a person and after 10
minutes I was getting nowhere, I had enough. I asked to talk to
Walter, the person whom I talked to just before I bought the door
handle
or even someone else above him. Two minutes
later I was talking to Walter. He remembers me, great! He
gives me the information
I needed to claim the door handle. 10 minutes later, I was
sending
an email with my claim including the bills and even with some
photos. We only have to
wait now. When I sent the email, I included myself as a
recipient. Now they
know I will be watching...
The wind is really picking up in the afternoon. We even have
white caps in the small bay.
What is that on the water?
Things blown by the wind. It is a cardboard box.
The wind got really strong later on the evening, to the point that we
had to close all three slides because of the noise the slide's awning
were making. We even closed the satellite dish. The
MH was shaking all night long.
Saturday May 5, 2018
When we woke up, the wind had died down.
Today, volunteer are putting the docks back in the water. I am
giving them a hand.
I am sitting down on one of the dock for coffee break. I am by the
front wheel of the tractor. You can see some of the docks still
stacked up waiting to get on the water.
We got all the docks in place in record time, one hour and half faster
than last year.
I filled up four small propane tanks from the big 20 lbs propane tank.
Many years ago, I bought an adapter from the 20 lbs tanks to the small
tank.
It costs only few pennies to fill a small propane tank compare to $6 at
the store.
I do a lot of preventive maintenance on the MH.
Like re-tightened the screws on the outside ladder. Were-they
loose? Some were.
I still have a few items to check before we get back on the road in
June for Moose Jaw.
Sunday May 6, 2018
We found the water pressure to be very low since we got here.
I did change the water filter on March 1st, but when I checked the
water pressure coming out of it, it was very low.
I guess the filter did its job, it stopped whatever was in the
water. Good job filter.
To confirm, I replaced the filter with strait water hoses to check the
pressure. Good pressure.
The RV Park owner, Jan, told me the water pressure in the park is about
60 psi.
I place the pressure regulator after the new filter. It is
adjusted to about 40 psi.
Look at the water coming out of the pressure regulator.
The new filter and pressure regulator are now working to keep the water
system clean and working efficiently.

Hey! Get off my car, you black pooping bird!
I am helping the park owner to find the anchor chains for the floating docks.
In 2017, the docks were not put in the water due to the flood.
Some of the chains have sunk deep in the mud while other have plants
growing in the links. It sure makes it difficult to find
them. Today I found half of them.
Some of the chains are easy to find while other are very hard to
find. Sometimes it can take me 15 minutes to find one chain,
other time, I find them right away.
I will keep looking for the other chains over the next few days.
Tuesday May 8, 2018
We are at our doctor's office for our annual medical appointments this morning.
The blood tests results are all good, but he added one more blood test,
this time for the prostate. Just a regular check. He also
has me get an X-ray for my hips. They do hurt some times
depending on how I move my legs. Again, more a precaution measure.
Driving back to Trenton, we stop at Trenton Diagnostics for the
X-ray. We only had to wait 5 minutes before I got in. Next
stop, LifeLabs for the blood work. Again, in 10 minutes, I am out
of there.
The sun is shinning and the weather is warm, time to wash the MH. It really needed it.
Michele having fun with selfies.
Once the MH was clean, we sat in the sun and had a nice cold beer.
Wednesday May 9, 2018
I am back at finding chains this afternoon. I only 5 or 6 of them left to find.
Another great day.
Thursday May 10, 2018
Not much today, we just went to the bank to get more info about an
account in US dollars along with a US credit card. We will have
to think about the pros and cons.
Tomorrow at one o'clock, I will get my eyes operated on. I cannot wait.
Friday May 11, 2018
We left the MH at around 9 am. We are about 2 hours away from Toronto.
It is at the corner of Yonge and Eglinton, two of the main streets in Toronto.
We love this sign.
I goofed up to get there. I got off the 401 one exit too
early. We have to travel on Eglinton for a while to get to Yonge Street.
Eglington is under-repair, not fun.
We made it to TLC Eye centers at around 11. We went for lunch
before the operation. They recommended that I have some food in
me before the operation.
After lunch we are back in the waiting room. I am not nervous, yet.
Between the time I went in and the time I got out, it took a little
less than one hour. The actual laser operation took only 10 or 15
minutes. It is quite an operation, a great light show in your
eyes. It does not hurt at all. It is just uncomfortable at
time, just pressure on the eyes. Here I am with my sunglasses
after the operation. I have to wear them inside and
outside. I will be wearing them for the next four days.
The owner's wife had laser eye surgery done 5 years ago and she told me
the trip back to Trenton will be the trip from hell. She was
right!
It was not fun at all. She told me to have a towel to cover my
head and I did, but still, my eyes hurt. Why? Just because
I needed to be in a dark place, but I am in the car, for two and half
hours, it is not dark enough. We did stop so Michele could get a
coffee and I, some drops in my eyes. Of course, Michele is
driving .
I have to keep my eyes closed as much as I can today. I listen to some podcast in my very dark bedroom.
Here I am getting ready to go to bed. I have to wear these
plastic covers over my eyes all night. It is to keep me from
rubbing my eyes during the night. My eyes do not hurt, but feels
more like you have a handful of sand in them, very
uncomfortable. I also have 3 different types of drops to put in my
eyes at certain times. They will help in the healing process and
keep my eyes lubricated.
I can only imagine what kind of night I will have.
Saturday May 12, 2018
My night was not so bad considering my situation.
Michele is taking good care of me. She makes sure I get the drops in my eyes at the right time.
I spent most of the day in the bedroom, in the dark, listening to podcasts.
In the evening, I did watch some TV for a few hours. Not a good idea.
By the end of the day, my eyes hurt a lot.
Sunday May 13, 2018
I had a bad night, my fault.
I am up by 5 am and my eyes hurt.
A little before lunch, I am cooking my next batch of breakfast sausages, in the shad with my sunglasses on.
I spend the afternoon in the bedroom listening to podcasts.
Enough of the bedroom, I get myself a nice cold beer and have it outside before supper.
For some strange reason, by 8 pm my eyes do not hurt any more and I have a very good night of sleep.
Monday May 14, 2018
I slept very well last night. My eyes are feeling very good, they
are healing good and I do not hurt. Just some moments where it is
uncomfortable. Nothing bad. I still stayed at home for the
day.
Tuesday May 15, 2018
It rained all night, more then one and half inches of water fell last
night. We needed our rubber boots to get out of the MH.
At 11 o'clock, we are in Belleville with our financial adviser (Ted) to do some updates.
Everything is good on the financial side of the house.
But! Something kind of funny happen. Last year we asked Ted if we
should take our Canada Pension early. He said NO! It will
have kind of bad influence on your financial situation. I still
had my doubts. I think we did plant a small seed in his brain,
because this year when we asked him again, he said YES, go for
it. Since we have been with Ted, we have been asking questions he
never had asked before. The majority of his clientele are
very well off. We are not, so we do look to get as much money as
we can get, anywhere we can get it. This is just our opinion.
We have lunch at Buffet Garden in Belleville.
This time it was just average, barely warm.
Nest stop was at the bank. This time it is to open an account in US dollars with a credit card US.
With the bank business done, we headed back home, but first we stopped at the Service Canada Center in Belleville.
What a nice place. People are nice too! They seem to be happy to work here!
So, we asked a lot of questions about early collecting our Canada
Pension early. The lady answered all our questions and even
informed about the fact that Michele should fill in the form called
"Child Rearing Provision" in the calculation of her benefits. I
am not even going to try to explain this process, ask the professionals.
A big thank you to the people working at the Service Canada office in Belleville.
