Wednesday, December 16, 2020

We skyped with Benoit in the afternoon. All is good on his end.

I tried a new pork recipe. It turned out pretty good. I was just missing some greens to give it some colors. My bad.

Here I am looking at the remote for the satellite TV. I am trying to remove the scheduled recording. Man, I wish I could remember how!

The cold weather has arrived. It was a nice -8° C today.

Thursday, December 17, 2020

I had a morning coffee with Benoit (Skype). We talked about all kinds of stuff. It was fun.

I am finally cleaning up the file folder from all the papers we no longer need.

After lunch, Michele decided we should go out and clean-up some of the branches that fell off the trees.
We made three nice piles of branches in no time. We will eventually burn them.

Another good day at home.

Friday, December 18, 2020

I am skyping with Jeremy and Natasha this morning.

We are having supper at Millie and Dean. But first, we stopped for some shopping. We had a good meal and a good conversation.

Saturday, December 19, 2020

I do not know why, but I am awake at 5 this morning.
The positive side of it? The nice sunrise.

Our little Natasha is 11 months old. It is unbelievable how fast she is growing up! We cannot wait to visit them this summer.

Jan and Jannie have some friends visiting them, Jerome and his family.
Jerome is helping Jan installing the "thumb" on the mini-excavator.

The thumb!
It will be very useful next summer if and when they replace the pool.

Jeremy went and picked up Gabriel for the holiday season.

It was another quiet day for us.

Sunday, December 20, 2020

Thank you Kristin for sending us so many photos of Natasha, we love it!

Christmas is coming real soon!

Monday, December 21, 2020

One more photo that Kristin took. Are they not cute?

Today is the day I run the MH engine and generator. I know many people think running a vehicle's engine at idle for 20-30 minutes does more harm than good. OK! I do run it until it reaches operating temperature. It will happen a total of 5 times this winter. So be it.

I also run the generator for at least one hour. This is to prevent the gas in the carburetor from "drying out" and causing varnish to form. It also warms up the generator and removes moisture that happens to be in the internal parts of the generator. I put loads on the generator. First, I run the convection oven and a 1500 watts small heater.  This makes the generator "work" hard producing electricity.
Look at the gravel under the generator. It is all dried up from the heat generated by the generator.

Gabriel is ice fishing with his dad.
Coming down to Buffalo Pound.

Gabriel loves ice fishing, winter and summer. He also loves helping out.

Ontario is back in confinement (COVID) starting on December 26th at 00;01 hour.
This morning, we go for a quick grocery at the local No Frills. The line up is only for about 10 minutes.

More photos of our son and his family.

Michele and I play a few games of Bowling.

Wednesday, December 23, 2020

We have no photos of today, but we have more photos of Natasha, Gabriel, Kristin and Jeremy.
Natasha is not afraid of Santa.

Gabriel is not either!

Little sister with big brother!

The family!

We really miss them!

Thursday, December 24, 2020

It is Christmas Eve. Still no snow on the ground. It is +3° C right now. We were hoping for a white Christmas, but!

So we warm up our hearts with a little Bailey.

When we are outside, we can hear the waves on Lake Ontario. We decide to go and check them out.

Can you see Cinderella's carriage?

They get along so well!

We spend Christmas Eve at home (COVID).
We light up the three "Christmas" decorations in the sunroom.
The palm tree to remind us of the south. The penguin, for the cold and the Eiffel tower, to remember traveling...

Merry Christmas.

We still have no snow on the ground!!!

The gifts we got for Gabriel and Natasha.

So cute!

We skyped with Jeremy, Kristin, Gabriel and Natasha.

Oh my God, it snows, for about 10 minutes!

While staying within our social bubble, we are having Christmas supper at Jannie and Jan's place. The rules will change at one minute past midnight. Until then, we are legal.

Jannie is preparing a good meal for Christmas.

Supper is ready!

Our Christmas from Jannie and Jan.

Surprise! It is snowing.

We had a great Christmas Day supper with them.

Saturday, December 26, 2020

Natasha loves her big brother.

I am out shoveling the snow we had last night. I know it is melt over the next few days, but I still do it!

Michele and I are going for a walk in the Park.

Since we out, we take time to check out the condition of the batteries of the MH.  All is good.

We got more snow in the evening.

It was a good day at home.

Sunday, December 27, 2020

It was just another day at home. No photos.
But, Jeremy and Gabriel are ice fishing in Saskatchewan. They are spending the night ice fishing.

You have to have technology. From the left, a fish finder, next, an underwater camera and Gabriel's tablet.

A pike goes by the camera.

Gabriel is looking at his lure on the camera.

A small perch.

And taking a break from fishing. Playing a game on the tablet.

Even with the pandemic, it was a good week.

Monday, December 28, 2020

A quiet Monday at home. Michele made a bread. The only problem is that it is so good, I will get fatter if she makes more!

With the ice getting smaller and smaller, the geese are coming back to the grass area. They poop a lot!

2020 is coming to an end soon!

Tuesday, December 29, 2020

Natasha is playing with her brother's gun!

It is sunny with very little wind, so we are going for a car ride to the Provincial Park Presqu'ile.

It is Lake Ontario we see in the distance. It seems higher than we are!

Michele is taking a photo of me. Look at that dirty car in the back!

Michele wanted to have a photo of both of us, but the sun was in our eyes!

My Michele, with Lake Ontario in the background.

The two of us without the sun in our eyes this time.

Looking south and north.

They had strong winds too here. Many trees are down.

A lot of people were in the Park today.

We had a good car ride today.

Wednesday, December 30, 2020

We can see it is snowing in the distance, but not for very long.

Michele has bought some kind of house for Natasha. We are on our way to pick it up.

The Chef at work.

Thursday, December 31, 2020

It is New Year's Eve day.
Natasha is ready and anxious to go to Day Care on Monday morning.

A little nap so I can be ready for tonight!

Jannie and Jan invited us for New Year's Eve. We had a simple, but very good meal. This was when they were wishing Happy New Year in Dutch to Jannie's sister in the Netherlands. It was kind of funny to hear them talking in Dutch.

We played a few games of Sjoelbak and had a great time. After the games, we went out for some fireworks.

Jan is placing the fireworks behind a big rock for protection.

Here we go!

Once the fireworks were done. We went to the back of the house. We will be blowing up a few airbags from the race cars from the Park.

Jan is connecting 4 of them together.

I missed the actual explosion, but these are the bags after. One did not blow. It will spend the night where it lays.

From Michele and I, we want to wish you a very Happy New Year 2021.

Until next year.

Life is good...
