One more easy day in paradise. I even had a little nap in the
afternoon.
Saturday December 2, 2017
We took no photos today!
We simply did what we do all the time
Sunday December 3, 2017
Another day of enjoying the pool, reading, biking, visiting and
enjoying the weather (30C). Sounds like yesterday!
Michele even came to the pool today.
The moon was 12% brighter tonight as she is the closest to the earth.
By the way, the dentist did a very good job on my crown.
Monday December 4, 2015
We looked at the weather forecast and they predict rain for Wednesday
and Thursday. We are supposed to leave here on
Thursday morning. The other campers told us that when it rains,
the ground gets really soft and we would probably sink if we moved the
MH Thursday. Off to the office I went and asked if we could move
to the parking lot next to the laundry room that way when we leave
Thursday morning we would not damage the ground at our site and get
stuck. They are very happy about that and they told us there was
a 50 amp power outlet at the washroom for us to use.
Tuesday December 5, 2017
Today was moving day, we are only traveling 220 meters...
Louise and Andre have decided to celebrate Michele's birthday.
All the friends we made during the month were there.
Louise, Andre, Gilles, Gerard.
Marthe and Murielle.
My pretty Michele and Anita.
Gerard, Paul and Maurice.
Lauraine, Danielle, Michel and Murielle.
Happy Birthday Michele, Happy Birthday Michele!
Michele was surprised.
She made her wish.
We had a great time with people we love.
On the weather side, at 4 o'clock the temperature was +28C. By 6
or 7 o'clock it was down to +18 and getting colder for the night.
Wednesday December 6, 2017
It was a cold day with some rain here and there.
We went back to Nuevo Progreso, Mexico this morning because one of
Michele's tooth was hurting.
We went to the same dentist as me.
He looked at the tooth. It turns out the tooth will not need a
root canal because it is only sensitive to cold and hot. She only
needs to use a different type of tooth paste.
The main street in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico.
A friend for the campground asked us to buy her some amoxicillin.
You do not need a prescription to get it. You get 100 pills for
$7.50.
Once we were back home, Michele treats herself with some birthday cake.
By the end of the day, the rain and wind started.
Thursday December 7, 2017
Brrr! It was only +6C last night.
Between two rain showers we prepare the MH for traveling.
We are only going 35 km west of here.
Let's roll.
Before we go out of the park, we hooked up the car to the MH.
Last check before we hit the road. This photo looks likes a
security camera.
The drive was nice even if it rained the whole whole way.
When we arrived at Blue Bonnet RV Resort, we set up under the rain.
We are under a weather advisory for cold and snow!!!
Friday December 8, 2017
Well! It did drop to +1°C last night.
When I woke up this morning (8:15 am), a light snow was falling, but it
snowed more and more.
By 9 am the grass was covered in snow. Remember, we are way at
the bottom of Texas!
How am I going to get this snow off?
I guess I will just have to wait a few hours for it to melt.
We treated ourselves with a big breakfast.
No more snow!
We have to do some grocery shopping today.
I showed you some store that had pig's heads for sale, this one does
too plus some cattle heads too.
When we got home, the sun was coming out.
We even got a nice sunset as a bonus.
What a day weather wise.
Saturday December 9, 2017
A short visit of our new RV Park.
We start with our site, as you can see, we are not completely set up
yet.
We were lucky when we booked our site, this one with the long concrete
patio was free.
The view from the windshield.
The RV Park is very empty right now. We just hope more Winter
Texan will be coming soon.
The office, pool hall, exercise room, laundry room and activity hall #1.
The activity hall #1.
There are many fruit trees in the Park. The rule of thumb is, if
the tree is on your lot, it is yours, if it is on an empty lot, it
belongs to everybody.
After lunch we went geocaching.
Some nice flowers.
Some caches were easy while other were a little more difficult.
Irrigation is very important in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV).
Back home, I do some preparation on our concrete patio so tomorrow I
can get our chairs and stuff out.
It was a nice +20°C today.
Sunday December 10, 2017
The sun was shinning and I went for a bike ride in the park.
The road in front of the RV Park.
The entrance.
Our par is part of the Wilder corporation group. This particular
park was bought two or three years ago and they did a big cleanup.
Now they have to replace the RVers that left. They do that by
offering deals like half price for the first month stay ($200).
As you can see, the place is pretty empty. The park manager told
us they have lots of reservation starting in January.
The managers are doing the best they can, but sometime the "main
office" say no to their requests. Some of the decision about an
RV Park are made on the 10th floor of some office tower by people who
never camped their whole life...
Some nice flowers.
Activity hall #2, the mail room. This building is located near
the entrance of the RV Park.
The hall has a very nice kitchen area, a stage and the double doors
lead to the indoor pool.
A very nice heated indoor pool.
In the middle of the park, you have another building named Midway
house. This one has a laundry room, library and washrooms.
I washed the MH for all the sand and dust. Now it is full
of water stain!
Now we have more stuff out.
While I am at it, why not flush the hot water tank! I do this
every 6 or so months.
The first water that comes out is rusty, but not for long. Next
are the sediment to come out. It is nothing special, just normal
routine maintenance.
This butterfly was keeping me company, but it was not healthy.
About an hour later it was dead! Sad.
We are having chicken for supper.
What a week, from +28°C to +8°C during the day.
Move, snow, what a life! LOL!
Monday December 11, 2015
I am waxing the MH today.
I started at 9 o'clock this morning, took one hour lunch break, finished by 3 o'clock in the afternoon.
Michele having fun at my expenses.
What a shine.
The left arrow indicates where it was waxed and the arrow on the right
shows you the water stain left after I washed the MH before the waxing
was done.
A nice clean and shiny MH. I did install the front windshield and side windows covers.
After so much work, time to hit the pool with Michele.
A good day.
Tuesday December 12, 2017
A few weeks ago we bought frozen crawfish. Today is the day that I eat them, Michele does not care much about them.
I warm them up on the BBQ.
Fifteen or twenty minutes later they are ready to eat.
The feast! Next time, I will warm them up in boiling water to take away some of the spiciness.
They are still very good for frozen crawfish.
We played shuffleboard in the afternoon.
Wednesday December 13, 2017
Michele woke up with a little back ache this morning. It is probably because of the shuffleboard we played yesterday..
It is 4 o'clock and it is the inauguration of the Tiki Hut, which is not finished yet!
So the party was taking place on the patio of the midway hut.
As you can see, the crowd is a little on the older side with a few younger retiree.
Not much dancing other than for the YMCA.
The party/Happy Hour finishes a little later than expected. We had to rush to make it to bingo in time.
This is the first time we see bingo being called by a computer program!
The cost for the cards was $2 for both of us and we both won $1. We broke even.
Thursday December 14, 2017
There was a park meeting this morning at the club house.
It was somewhat funny to watch the dynamics at play.
They also had a Jam Session in the afternoon.
I did not stay very long because it was about old, very old country music.
Here is a video of the "best" performance. Click here for the video.
Michele did not come with me to the club house.
With the medication, she is taking, she is sleeping a lot.
Michele was feeling better in the evening.
Friday December 15, 2017
We went to the Mission Chamber of Commerce this morning. It was
the Fiesta to welcome the Winter Texans. It was supposed to have
lot of information booth and entertainment, but it was canceled because
of the cold and rainy weather.
A nice butterfly at the entrance.
So, we used this time to do some shopping and drive around.
We had lunch at a fast food place called Stars. With a coupon we paid $5 for two meals.
The weather was miserable today. We were back home by 3 o'clock.
