Jeremy doing some fine tuning on his RC flying wing.
Another lazy day at home.
Jeremy is going to Regina to visit Kristin.
Saturday September 2, 2017
We are in the parking lot of a church in MJ. This is a church sponsored yard sale.
We are trying to sell Gabriel's toys he no longer plays with or are for babies.
It was a small success. We sold almost half of the stuff and we
gave the rest to the church. They will raise money with the toys
we gave them. The money will go to charity or people in need.
Once back home, I decided to flush/change the water in our fresh water
tank. When it is +30° for a week or more and you are not using
much water, the water develops a smell. The arrow shows the water coming out of the tank.
The water falls on the pavement and moved towards the bottom of the photo, but the water disappear in the crack in the pavement!
More than 25 liters disappear in the crack and it never overflowed??? Now that is dry land...
In the meantime, I hunt spiders. BIG SPIDERS.
Sunday September 3, 2017
Jeremy and Kristin came back from Regina last night.
They went canoeing in Wakamow this morning.
This afternoon they are working on some of the small repairs/improvements on the canoe.
The canoe has a slow leak in the back. It is quickly repaired.
Monday September 4, 2015
Jeremy is playing baseball for a charity of some kind.
He is playing in the left field.
His team is coming home to bat.
It's a hit!
A double!
And shortly after he comes in for the point.
The team.
It was a nice day and it was nice to watch Jeremy play baseball.
Tuesday September 5, 2017
We had a frost warning last night.
Our temperature did drop to +4°C during the night.
But, the afternoon are still nice and warm.
We in Wakamow and Jeremy is flying his quadcopter.
He is getting his equipment ready.
He puts on the goggles.
And lift-off. The red arrow points to the quadcopter.
That crash was very hard.
We are still waiting for our new awning...
Wednesday September 6, 2017
No photos today, but I did contact MJ RV and sure enough, the parts
will be coming on September 12th. We are giving them until
tomorrow to confirm the date.
We did some packing of the MH for our departure tomorrow!
Thursday September 7, 2017
I will not get to much into the details, but I spent the morning on the
phone with MJ RV, Steve Sweet RV in Trenton and our insurance adjuster
about the awning. I have to say, the insurance Adjuster is doing
everything they can to help us. The parts (awning) will be
rerouted to Steve Sweet RV in Trenton.
Next I call Sears to find out if our new mattress has arrived.
They can't because they had a fire in the store yesterday!!! Can
it get worst? They have a truck coming, but they do not know the
time it will arrive.
We got a call from Sears one hour later and they do have the
mattress. We are leaving this afternoon and picking it up on our
way to Quebec.
Jeremy comes for lunch and to say Goodbye to us.
Thank you Jeremy for having us for two months. It was a pleasure
to have Gabriel with us. We are giving you back your house now!!!
When Jeremy has left to work, we get ready to leave. As we are
leaving, our steps are not retracting!!!
Poop! And it is a hot day. Now I have to go out and fix
this...
20 minutes later the steps are working again.
But!
The fridge is no longer working!!!
I found the cause quickly, I was the cause! While fixing the
steps, I inadvertently tripped a Circuit Breaker. Pffff!
It is hot out there!
Time to hook up the car. Surprise!
The wires for the car lights is too short! How come?
I must've put back the tow bar the wrong way. I take it off, put
it back on and then I remembered I did modify the wiring two months
back and I forgot... Darn!
Now it works.
Goodbye Jeremy! We finally left Jeremy's house an hour late, but
now everything works.
First stop, Flying J for some gasoline for the MH.
Now we are on the road for good. Goodbye Moose Jaw.
Around Regina, there is a lot of smoke in the air. We saw many
fields burnt. We do not know if it is voluntary or accidental.
Sears, we are ready for our new mattress.
We do the exchange in the parking lot. Looks good!
To be able to move the old mattress out and the new mattress in, we had
to open the bedroom slide and the R/H side slide.
It is a hot day. After the exchange, Michele close the bedroom
slide and I start the motor of the MH to get the AC going.
The R/H slide does not come in???
I took a few calming breaths and remembered that you cannot open or
close the slide with the engine running.
We are now on the road for good. Even the construction area was
easy to go through.
Weird arrow!
We made it to Manitoba.
Our destination for the night, Elkhorn.
Why Elkhorn?
Simply because it is 4 hours away from MJ and it cost only $25 per
night, full services.
We have traveled 348 km today and we are a little tired after all the
"problems" we had.
Friday September 8, 2017
This is our site at Elkhorn. It is a nice campground.
We are back on the TransCanada highway, driving east.
The name of the town mean "mouse" in French!!!
Marshmallows field.
The road is very nice and so is the weather.
This is not fog, but dust from a dirt road next to the main highway.
Winnipeg, here we come!
We stop for gasoline at the Flying J in Winnipeg. We believe it
is one of the nicest one for RV.
For some reason I decide to not use the ring road and use the "inner"
ring road to go around Winnipeg. Why? The ring road (101)
is in a very bad shape. What a mistake! We still made it,
but no easily.
On our way to Kenora, Ontario.
I am a little tired after Winnipeg, time to take a nap, why not?
Keeping an eye on us.
After 480 km, we made it to Ontario.
The land changes from flat to the Canadian shield with its lakes and
mountains.
After 630 km, we park for the night at the Vermilion Weight station.
I really have to wash the windshield.
We are not alone for the night. We still feel safe, after all, we
are not in the USA with all the guns...
Saturday September 9, 2017
We are back on the road by 9 am. We saw many cars like this one
all day.
Northern Ontario is the land of lakes.
We cross "the line" and we have to change our clocks back one hour.
Another change, this one is about where the water flows from now on.
We stop at the Walmart in Thunder Bay for a small grocery and back on
the road to the Flying J.
The roads are so nice.
30 km ish to the east of Thunder Bay is the Flying J.
Our parking spot for the night, right next to the "Truck" chapel.
Jeremy got his eyes done Friday and all went well.
Today he had to go back to make sure everything is going good and it is.
We think he looks like Spiderman.
Sunday September 10, 2017
We are back on the road a little earlier today.
We got some foggy patches along the way.
The Nipigon bridge. This is where we decide to take either hwy 11
or 17.
17 it is and on to Sault-St-Marie.
We do have some beautiful scenery along the way.
It comes with the mountains too!
As we were coming out of a curve on the road, we saw this!
The driver had time to remove his truck from the trailer before it got
too serious. Nobody got hurt, good!
The local volunteer firefighters showed up about 10 minutes late and
put out the fire quickly.
We basically took a short 20 minutes break.
We make a stop at White River to dump our gray and black water tank.
Got to stretch the neck some times!
We drive by Wawa and the big goose. We do not stop.
One of the worst hill is this one. Why? Because it has a
sharp curve at the bottom of the mountain.
The things we see!
This is where we wanted to be tonight.
First stop, the Flying J for some gas and maybe fill our fresh water
tank?
This Flying J even allow us to fill our fresh water tank, but you have
to do it yourself, they will not touch anything because of
liability. Understandable.
Second and final stop for today, Walmart.
Once again, the windshield really needs a good cleaning.
This is the map showing the 650 km we drove today.
This is a long drive for us with a MH.
Tomorrow we continue on to Saint-Ignace-de-Loyola, QC.
Monday September 11, 2017
Walmart in Sault-St-Marie. It was not actually that bright
outside.
Driving across S-S-M was very easy, no traffic.
There was a little bit of fog, sometimes a lot of fog.
Our next home for the night. Walmart in North Bay.
The Walmart
is part of the mall and as such, they cannot grant the overnight
parking for RVers. The mall has recognized this and the potential
wind fall from RVers buying in the mall. They grant permission to
park overnight in one parking area of the mall for one night
only. No transport trucks allowed.
It is very safe and quiet.
Tuesday September 12, 2017
We are back on the road early this morning.
We got the sun in our face...
One more stop before we arrive in Berthierville.
What a nice surprise, we have a $0.05 discount per litres with the
Airmiles card.
We are going by passing Montreal by Hawkesbury to save us from the
aggravating traffic/construction of Montreal.
Our last stop is at the dump station in Berthierville before we arrive
at Manon and Patrice's place.
We made it!
It is always a pleasure to be with Patrice and Manon.
Wednesday September 13, 2017
Today we are still catching up with our host Manon and Patrice.
The car needed a very good wash.
The MH too, but not today.
Catherine cutting Valerie's hair. Valerie is now in the
military. She is stationed in Kingston, Ontario. She is
doing her basic electronic training there.
Thursday September 14, 2017
A day with no wind. Patrice an Manon are taking us fishing in
their new boat on the St-Laurence River.
We fish across the city of Sorel.
The fishing is good.
Patrice is not as lucky as the rest of us.
Manon and Patrice's new dog, Flick.
A boat from the Canadian Cost Gard.
We caught two Round Goby. They are an invasive species of
the St-Laurence.
And the fishing continues...
We are moving to the Lake St-Pierre. We are taking the smaller
channels to get there. We love looking at houses and cottages by
the water.
The fishing has not been very good for him!
We had a great day on the water.
Flick can't take it anymore. He has his nose in Michele's shoe
and sleeps!!!
Friday September 15, 2017
A shopping day in Trois Rivières.
We bought outdoor chairs for the MH.
After supper, we watched Rock playing at Impov.
The crew, Rock, Patrice, Catherine, Valérie, Manon and Michele.
We enjoyed our evening.
