Thursday, February 1st, 2024.

I am out of dates, and so is Éric. We went to Martha's garden to buy more.

After that, we stopped at Wally's World to buy more bungees.

Natasha wanted to take her shower with an umbrella, so why not.

Éric and I installed the remainder of the mesh tarps.
These photos are from a few days later. Nothing is on the patio because a storm is coming.
We are quite happy with the result.

This will keep the wind out of the patio and offer more shade and privacy.

Friday, February 2, 2024.

Another busy day doing nothing.
I forgot we did go to the Friday evening dance. We had a good time.

Saturday, February 3, 2024.

I did a few chores around the RV.

Dennis, Gail, Gaétan and Michelle are going to a Show & Shine. I went with them, but Michele stayed home.

I do not remember seeing those two models, or maybe they had a different name in Canada.

Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Some friends from our park are going down the Colorado River in kayaks.
They asked us to drive the truck back to the pickup location after they launched.
Of course, let's go!

First, we meet with another group.
And the craziness starts.

The area around Yuma is mostly agricultural.

We are back in Yuma to return the truck.

After we park the truck, we take our car to go home.

They launched at around 10:45. They got off the water at around 3:30.

Monday, February 5, 2024

At 9 am this morning, someone knocked at our door.
It is the manager.
Did we do something wrong?
Nope! He informs us the arborists are coming to take down our tree.
I have to move the car out of the way.
The last photos of the tree before it will be cut down.

The reason for cutting down is that it has a disease. It may not look like it, but it is half dead already.

It is like it was never there!

We are not unhappy to see it gone.
The doves were using it as a place to sleep and poop. Boy, do they poop!

This afternoon, we had a general meeting with the park entertainment comity.
Why are people being so difficult? Last year they complained there were not enough activities, now they complain there are too many!!!
I love this park, but sometimes, it feels like a schoolyard at recess.
I guess you have to laugh at it all.

We went to the pool and spa at 8 pm with Éric and Judith. It is becoming a routine. We like it.

Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

Another busy Tuesday morning. From 10 to 11, we have line dancing. From 11:15 to 11:45 we have chair exercise.
I think I will stop going to the line dancing class. Michele is very good, She learns fast. Me? Not so much. I am barely above bad.

But there is always a bright side. The lady who bakes cookies during line dancing suggested I could cook instead of dancing.
I guess she even sees how bad I am 😄.

By late afternoon, we have a big thunderstorm. This is rare here.

Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

I spent 2 hours on the phone talking to Scotia Bank to fix a fraud on our credit card. I goofed on one security question. Bam! All our accounts are not locked. Super!
They keep telling me to go to my branch in Comox. I explained I was in Yuma for the winter. I could not go to the branch. I managed to get the phone number of the branch. I left a voice message explaining what happened. We will see what happens.

A cold front is upon us. It is windy and cold (for here).

This is how you BBQ when it is cold.
Because it is cold, I use our patio heater to keep me warm while cooking.

Thursday, February 8, 2024.

We are having supper with our friends Éric and Judith.

Michele does not care much about pets. Little Dog (Ti-chien) does not seem to mind.

As usual, the meal was excellent. Thank You.

Friday, February 9, 2024.

The RV Park is celebrating "Mardi Gras".
The hall is ready.

The event is broken into two parts. First, we have a Jambalaya meal. The second part is the dance.

Gaétan and I are selling 50/50 tickets.

This is Darrel. He comes here with his guardians. He has a mental handicap. He is the happiest person in the park.
Everybody loves him.

The meal and the company were good.

They placed some small baby Jesus into the cake. It brings luck.

Richard won the 50/50.

We finished the evening with a dance.

We had a good time.

Saturday, February 10, 2024.

We are at the Silver Spur rodeo in Yuma.

We are in the lower bleachers.

Before the rodeo started, we checked out some of the animals taking part in the rodeo.
This young calf has a protective harness around his neck to protect him from the rope during an event.

They have sheep. They will be ridden by the young kid.

The show is on.

We saw this man without his hat first. When we saw him again, with his hat on, we realized he had cut his hat to accommodate his hair.

One second before the cowboy was "ejected" from his horse.

You have to have a clown. His name is Hollywood.

Sunday, February 11, 2024.

She loves the bling-bling of Valentine's Day.

Today is Super Bowl day.
A few friends were invited to Terry and Darlene's place to watch the game.

Terry was trying to make the top TV work. The TV did not cooperate.

Some people had the reflection of Gaétan and Michelle on the TV.

Terry looks like an Italian gangster. Gail looks like she came out of a Steam Punk movie.
The hats belong to Éric.

When you talk about the Super Bowl, you talk about food too.

We had a good setup to watch the game.

Wayne won the football "pool". He won $40.

We had fun.

Monday and Tuesday, February 12 and 13, 2024

When the sun goes down, it cools right off. When I use the BBQ, I turn on our patio heater to keep warm.

On Tuesday, Gaétan and I went around the park to pre-sell 50/50 tickets for Valentine's Day.
Michele made some hats for us for Valentine's Day. They have curlers on them. We look like we are getting ready for Valentine's Day.

For some reason, our hats increase our sales of 50/50 tickets.

Wednesday, February 14, 2024

Our son, Jérémy, has it pretty tough in the military. He is deployed in Hawaii for three weeks.

It is now all work. Jeremy and his coworker do some hiking around the island.

Today, we are going to the small town of Hope to visit our friends Jan and Jannie.
The first stop on our two hour journey is at Burger King because we have a discount coupon.
All this food for only $9.00.
