We are having a New Year's Day dinner at Judith and Éric's place.
They invited Jannie and Jan, Alain and Francine. To top it all off, I forgot to take a photo of our host!

Ragoût de boulettes (meat balls) and pâté à la viande (meat pie), It was delicious.
Thank you, Judith and Éric, for the great meal and the fun time.

Once back at home, we went to the pool and hot tub. The temperature is +14°C outside.

Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Boy, we miss her!

Wednesday, January 3, 2024.

Jan and I went to Home Depot to buy the lumber required for the steps for the 5th wheel.
Jan did the plan and calculated the lumber needed.

Yesterday, I found some pavers for the steps.

Tonight is the last night Gabriel is at home with his Dad. Tomorrow, he is going back to Alberta.

Judith took some photos of the cloud formations. They are angry looking.

Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Jan had a change of plan. We are now building the steps today vs tomorrow.
Jan is very good at building stuff. We gave him carte blanche for the design of the steps.
It is a little harder for him today because he does not have his woodworking tools here. Working with lesser quality tools makes it a challenge for him.
The tools come for friends in the RV Park.

What am I doing?
Doing my best to be out of Jan's way!

Done!

Time to relax and have a beer.

It looks good. Jan does excellent work.

Thank you, Jan. The more we look at it, the more we like it.

Gaétan are out selling 50/50 tickets in the campground.
As I was selling tickets to a camper, I asked him if he checked his tickets for the last draw. He said no because he never wins!
I told him I thought he was the winner.
We checked his number. Sure enough, he won! He won $191. He is happy.

Saturday, January 6, 2024.

We have breakfast at the rec hall this morning.
These are the pancake cooks.
We are selling 50/50 tickets again.
The winner won $168 this time. To top it off, he has won twice in three draws.

The happy hour is at Gaétan and Michelle.
We had one more beautiful sunset.

The regular crowd for happy hour.

Sunday, January 7, 2024.

We woke up to rain this morning. The wind picked up also.
The maximum for today is going to be +15° C.
It was a lazy day for everyone.
We had bought a cooked chicken from Sam's Club. I had kept the bones to make soup.
I had Gail's chicken bones as well.

For those who wonder about the current weather conditions here in Yuma. I will tell you how winter usually is here.
A little like Florida or Texas, winter can have some cold stretches. Here, from mid-December to mid to end of January, it is winter.
Sometimes, the temperature goes as high as +25°C to as low as +15°C for daytime temperature. Nights can be as low as near 0°C.

The week of January 8 to January 14, 2024.

It was a simple week.

Jeremy is training with his daughter.

I finally got around to fixing the water leak in the basement.

We even went to a farmer's Market near our campground. We did not buy anything.

We bought a stick vacuum cleaner from Bissell. It is a cordless.

Friday, we bought (new to us) a patio table with chairs.
We think it may be too big, but we will see when everything is done.

Natasha started her ballet classes.
She loves ballet. She put all her heart into it.

Michele is into crocheting again. She is also into puzzles.

Natasha's birthday is in the middle of the week. She is celebrating her birthday on Sunday.
This is the cake Kristin made for her. It is beautiful.

She is now four years old, a big girl.

Her birthday from one year old to now...

On Sunday, we had a band playing on the patio.
They were good.

We also had a food truck. The people who had food from them said it was very good.

The weather is warming up now.

Monday, January 15, 2024

A lazy day at home.

Michele is still crocheting slippers.

Until next time.

Life is good...
