Another "blah" day weather wise. We put Christianne sewing skill
to the test with some repairs that we need done. She is good.
While she is doing this, I fix a little connection problem between the
TV
and the other components.
Thanks Christianne for the repair you did!
On our way to the motorhome we notice the leaves are turning fast.
Watching our Monday evening TV shows.
Tuesday October 2, 2012
Earlier Rolland talked about going for a walk on the mountain
above the cliffs. Today is the day. The weather is nice with a
+18. We are going up the left side of this mountain to get above the
cliff.
Some mushroom we saw by the trail.
Fall colors are so pretty.
The view above the cliff. A collage of 5 photos is giving us a
view of the valley.
A nice little hike of a little less than 10 km, but we did go up about
135 meters and it was pretty steep in places.
Thanks Rolland for this idea for a hike.

A beautiful fall day.
Christianne is with us and we took a nice stroll in the campground.
The rest of the afternoon is spent talking and laughing.
Christianne stayed with us for dinner.
It is always fun to have Christianne with us.
Thursday September 4, 2012
André and Gisèle invited us for the afternoon and dinner. A very good
meal and we had fun playing Mexican train,
It is always fun to see them.
We make plans to see each other again after Christmas in Florida.
Friday, Saturday September 5 and 6, 2012
A full day ahead of us.
At Karole and Mauro for brunch at their new house they just built.
A beautiful house, very well built with all the bells and
whistles. For us the kitchen is the center piece of the house.
Thank you Karole and Mauro for a very good brunch.
After the brunch, we head to Christianne's place for dinner. Her
two children will be there, Maryse and Marc with his family, Anik and
the two boys, Derek and Gabriel. We completely forgot to take
photos again!
We still got some of the kids, Gabriel and Derek.
Thank you Christianne for a great meal and being with your family,
what a great evening it was.
Sunday September 7, 2012
Our very busy weekend continues.
Going to Montréal for a visit with Benoit. He is supposed to take
us to the top of Mount Royal.
It is easier to take the Metro then driving into Montréal.
Benoit took us to his new apartment and we met his roommate. We
forgot, again, to take photos!
On our way to Mount Royal we saw many murals done by very talented
painters.
At the foot of the mountain, Park Jeanne-Mance is where the Tam-tams of
Montreal take place. It is a group of drummers doing a jam
session every Sunday afternoon. The cold weather kept the number
of drummers low, but it was still fun to be there.
Half way up the Mount Royal we took a little break.
Two views of Montreal, a collage of many photos.
For some reason, the cross at the top disappointed me! I do not
know what I was expecting.
Montréal at night!
Going up and down Mount Royal made us very hungry. We stopped at
this little Vietnamese restaurant on Rue Mount Royal.
A first for us in a Vietnamese restaurant. Very good food and
very good service. Only Jérémy is missing!
All good things must come to an end. Benoit must go back home and
we head the other direction.
A great day with our youngest son, Benoit.
Monday September 8, 2012
Michèle spent the day with an old friend, Marthe.
Me, I stayed home and moved the motorhome to another site, did laundry
and relaxed with a book.
Tuesday September 9, 2012
A beautiful sunny day. I called Rolland for our bicycle ride in
the village where we grew up.
We biked most of the streets we grew up on. What a trip it was,
remembering all the stuff we did as kids. I learned a lot about
my brother's life growing up. He is 10 years older than me so we did
not grow up "together". Again, I forgot to take photos, but we
sure had a great time.
One of our stop was at the local United Church cemetery. Always
fun to read the head stones, you learn a lot about the people who lived
in the village before you.
A great day reminiscing about our youth.
Shortly after dinner, we Skyped with Jérémy and our grandson Gabriel.
Only 5 days before we leave St-Jérome for Ontario. It is funny
how time flies. We taught we had lots of time to see everyone,
but at the end you have to rush just to get to see everyone.
Wednesday October 10, 2012
Not much on our plate today, just before we headed to see my mother,
Patrice and Manon called us to say they were coming for a visit later
on. Super!
Right after lunch, we went to visit my mother. She recognized me
right away, she was having a good day. It is so funny, mom had to
hold my hand all the time.
I loved it!
It was fun to see her
again.
After visiting my mom, Patrice and Manon showed up and we had a few
beers outside, but the rain pushed us back inside later on.
We invited Manon and Patrice for diner at St-Hubert. We were not
impressed with the cost vs quality of our meal. I do not think we
will be back here for a long time, but we still had fun.
We had a great time with them. Patrice trying his new bed.
It is always fun to have Patrice and Manon with us.
Thursday October 11, 2012
We had to get up early because of a breakfast date with friends.
Goodbye Manon and Patrice, we will see each other again this winter.
Off to Breakfast with our friends Lynn and Robert. A very good
and
long breakfast, we will see you next year.
Beautiful fall colours.
Later on the day, I spent some time showing my sister Christianne how
to use "Windows
Live Movie Maker".
Friday October 12, 2012
It was our turn to host my family. Rolland and Suzie,
Christianne, Estelle and Robert, André and Gisèle were with us for
lunch
and a campfire. The warmest it got this afternoon was +8 with
some wind and clouds.
Here, I was waiting for them to show up.
A view of the campsite, The cars sheltered us somewhat from
the wind.
It was a great afternoon!
We even had a short snow flurry.
Family on the serious side and on the "crazy" side.
It was fun to have them all with us for the afternoon.
Saturday October 13, 2012
The furnace ran a lot more this past night.
I looked at the
thermometer when I got up and noticed it was pretty cold last night, -2
and still only
-1 this morning.
Our first frost for this year.
We had lunch at my sister's place. Very good meal, thanks Estelle
and Robert.
Back at the motorhome, we carried out some more preparation for our
move
to Trenton.
Sunday October 14, 2012
Moving day.
Who did we see as we pulled out of the campsite?
Estelle and Christianne coming to say one last "Au Revoir". What
a surprise!
Once the Goodbyes were done, we headed to Blainville to meet with
Daniel
and Sylvie. They are coming with us to Trenton, they have never
been there before.
Getting through Montréal on a Sunday morning was easy. We got a
light drizzle most of the way to Trenton. On the bright side,
at this time of the year, road construction is pretty well done.
Shortly after the city of Brockville, we took a little detour on the
1000 Island Parkway". A very pretty parkway.
Some of the houses along the parkway.
We stopped for lunch along the parkway.
The access road to the campground is very muddy and yucky!
Once we were all set up, we had a small campfire, but the wind picked
up and we gave up.
For dinner, we had a very good raclette with Daniel and Sylvie.
Monday October 15, 2012
This morning, Michèle had her first appointment and all went well.
We took the afternoon to visit a few wineries. Here are some
grapes waiting to become ice wine
The
Sandbanks
Estate Winery. A great place with very good wine at a very
decent price. Our choice was Baco Noir.
Once the winery tour done, we had a good coffee in Picton. Picton
is a very pretty little town.
A very good day and it ended with a great meal at Daniel and Sylvie.
Until next time.
Life is good...
