Sunday September 16, 2012

Today was our last bike ride because tomorrow we are leaving to St-Jerome.

Last dinner with the kids and friend.  They are going back to college in Trois-Rivières.

We really love Manon and Patrice kids.  They are very good kids with a very good head on their shoulder.  We will miss you Rock, Catherine and Valérie.

Monday September 17, 2012

An happy and sad day at the same time.  Happy because we are going to visit my family, but sad because we are leaving Patrice and Manon.

Manon and Patrice are with us because they need to go to Lavaltrie and we are driving the same roads.  Here, we are replenishing the propane tank.

Next stop was for diesel fuel.  Once this ass done we said our "au revoir" to Manon and Patrice.  A BIG thank you to both of you for putting up with us for two weeks.  It is always a pleasure to visit you and your family.  We will miss you.

Patrice and Manon in front of us, they will be taking the exit coming up.  I think they followed us to Lavaltrie to make sure we did not come back!  Just a joke!

Coming up to "Camping Lac Lafontaine" in St-Jerome.  We will be here for a month.  Photos of our site in a few days.

My two sisters came for a visit this afternoon.  It was great to see them again.

Lazy evening watching TV.

Tuesday September 18, 2012

I do not know what happened, but we did not take one single photo the whole day!  Not because we were not busy, first we did grocery in the morning, then we had a visit from my brother Rolland and his wife Suzie.  Friends came for a visit in early evening, we met on our way back from Comox, they live close by.  Busy, but no photos.  We will have to fix that in the next few days!

Wednesday September 19, 2012

This afternoon Estelle and Christianne came for a visit and a campfire.
Can you see Christianne in the shade?

For those who have seen me around a campfire, as usual, smoke followed me all afternoon  The Gods must be angry at me!

Thursday September 20, 2012

We are visiting my mother this afternoon.  On the left, my mom, and on the right Monsieur Achille, her "boyfriend".
On the right photo, me and my Mom.  She is 86.

Group photos.

After visiting my Mother, we head to Blainville for supper with the couple we met in Calgary this summer, Daniel and Sylvie.

What a pleasure to meet again with Daniel and Sylvie.  We had a great meal and lots of fun in the evening.
They are planning to travel for a few days with us to Trenton in October.

Friday September 21, 2012

Dinner with Rolland and Suzie today.  This is the first time we see the completed house since the "almost" fire of last year.  Smoke damage is almost worst then fire I think!
A great meal gain.  The serious photo and the "crazy" one.

Thank you Rolland and Suzie for a great evening.

Saturday September 22, 2012

Another visit this afternoon, Christianne and Marie-Thérèse.  What a pleasure to see Marie-Thérèse again.

We are hosting Lynn and Robert this evening.  I should say for dinner and evening.  It is always fun to see them, it is like we were together last week and just continue having fun.

Sunday September 23, 2012

The plan was to have dinner at my sister Estelle place, but she had an allergic reaction during preparation and ended up at the hospital.  They think it is an allergy to shrimps.  Robert phoned us from the hospital to cancel dinner tonight.

Estelle phoned me later on the evening and she is doing fine, but tired.  We re-scheduled dinner to Wednesday.

Monday September 24, 2012

I contacted Rolland this morning to find out if he is busy in the afternoon.  He is not, so I am going for a visit and help him with his laptop.

We are giving this BBQ to Rolland, but first I have to clean it up a little.

A good part of the afternoon is spent on the computer.

Michèle stayed at home and watched the show Smallville.

And we watched our TV show all evening long.

Tuesday September 4, 2012

This morning I am going to Boisbriand to get the update done on my controller for our automatic satellite system.  I contacted  "Explorer Satellite Systems (ESSi)" about the update and they charge $50 to do it.  I am on my way.  Once there, the technician does the update and do not charge me anything for the work, WOW!
A photo of the controller.  It finds the Shaw Direct satellite very fast now.

My sister Christianne need some help on how to use her scanner.  She also invited us for dinner.  Here I am helping Christianne with the program.  I know, it looks like the computer is off, but the camera flash makes the monitor look like it is off, it is on!

Christianne is babysitting her two grand-child after school.  Here I am playing with Lego with Gabriel.

Gabriel and Derek, two good kids.

Christianne fixing dinner.

We had a great time with Gabriel and Derek, Christianne learned a lot about her scanner this afternoon.

Thank you Christianne for the nice supper.

A great day!

Wednesday, Thursday September 26 and 27, 2012

As promised, here is the photo of our site.

A nice site, but still not quite level.  Our satellite dish (Shaw Direct) has no problems getting signal from the satellite even through leaves.  We are very satisfied with Shaw Direct

Once this photo taken, I continue with my task for today.
Before I get on with my task, I want to let you know how I know what to do and when to do it.  I use an email program called Thunderbird and with the add-on Lightning.  Lightning is a calendar/organizer that helps me schedule task and/or maintenance stuff for the motorhome and car.  I really like this small add-on.

Back to today task, I have to rinse our hot water tank.  I decided to do this task every 4 months.  It seems to be the right amount of time between rinse.  To rinse the tank, I remove the white screw cap you see in the red circle.

I connect this rinse "wand" to my garden hose and insert it in the tank from where the cap was and rinse the hell out of it.

You would be amazed how much stuff comes out of the hot water tank.  All the white stuff you see on the ground is actual sediment that was inside the tank.  I do use a filter for the water coming in the motorhome, but still.  Now this is a very condensed version of all the steps I do to rinse the hot water tank.  Read carefully the instruction from the manufacture of your hot water tank before you do this task.

Dinner is at Estelle and Robert place.

We had a very good dinner and evening.  Thanks Estelle and Robert

Thursday afternoon we visited my mother, but we forgot to take photos!!!

Friday September 28, 2012

Nothing planned for today.  We spent sometime at the mall.  We had lunch at Valentine, 1 Hot dog, 1 hamburger, a poutine and a coke for only $11.00.

For those of you that have been following us for a while, we have a friend in Cold Lake and she likes out of the ordinary rubber boots.  Here it is for you Nathalie.  Happy Birthday!

Back at the campsite, we went for a nice stroll in the campground.

Surprise!  André and Gisèle dropped by for a visit before dinner.
What a pleasure to see them again.

Dinner is a nice pork fondue.

Another great day!

Saturday September 29, 2012

Rolland organized a birthday party for his wife Suzie.

Suzie is a little surprised to see so many people in her backyard.

Quite a few of Suzie's brothers and sisters are here for her birthday.  I grew up with Suzie's brother, it was fun to see him after all those years.

Our Benoit!

Both families around the fire!

Rolland and his two daughters have done a great job with the food.

The main course was simple, Hot Dogs and Hamburger.
Here come the birthday cake.

What a nice birthday party, lots of great people and food.

Back at the motorhome, we relax a little before we go to bed.

Sunday September 30, 2012

Woke up to the sound of rain.  The rain falls the whole day.  Benoit has to go back home, we would have loved to keep him a little longer, but!  After dropping off Benoit we do very little, reading, internet and TV.

Until next time.

Life is good...
